Regulatory Compliance Hub | SkyFuns

Compliance hub

How SkyFuns keeps every shared flight within the regulations.

Before a listing appears on SkyFuns, we review that it aligns with Commission Regulation (EU) No 965/2012 on Air Operations and Part-NCO cost-sharing requirements.

Review cycle

Every document is reviewed at onboarding, with automatic alerts 30 days before expiry.

Data handling

Pilot documents are processed under GDPR safeguards for safety, compliance, and verification activities.

Legal scope

Marketplace role and legal responsibilities

Aviation law can vary by country. SkyFuns aligns with EASA framework rules and each pilot must also comply with the applicable National CAA requirements in the country of operation.

Workflow

From account creation to scheduled flight

Here is how the compliance workflow supports each step before a passenger ever boards.

01

Onboarding dossier

Pilots submit licenses and medical certificates. Documents are uploaded for tracking and verification. Pilots remain responsible for maintaining valid and current licenses, ratings, and certifications.

02

Operational review

Once your documents are reviewed, you can create and publish flights for future passengers.

03

Pre-flight sign-off

Within 24 hours of departure, you should confirm the flight with your passenger(s) regarding weather, operational issues and mass and balance planning.

04

Fly Time

With everything reviewed and clear skies ahead, it is time to provide passengers with a safe and memorable flight.

FAQs

Common regulatory questions

Aviation requirements can differ from one country to another. Start with these clarifications before publishing flights.

What happens if a document expires?

Flights are automatically hidden from search if a key document expires. The PIC receives alerts at D-30, D-14, and D-2. Once updated, the support team may revalidate within one business day.

Can we operate outside Europe?

SkyFuns aligns its workflow with EASA cost-sharing rules, but legal requirements vary by country. Pilots flying outside their home state are responsible for meeting the applicable National CAA and local legal requirements.

How is passenger data protected?

Access to manifests is limited to vetted staff. All downloads are logged, encrypted at rest, and deleted upon user request per GDPR.
