SkyFuns Terms of Service
Effective date: 15th April 2026 — These terms describe how passengers and private pilots use SkyFuns to plan and share cost-compliant flights across Europe.
Language notice
These Terms may be made available in languages other than English for convenience and reference only. Any other version is provided as a rough translation of the English text. The English-language version is the sole legally binding version and shall prevail in the event of any inconsistency, ambiguity, or conflict between versions.
About SkyFuns
SkyFuns is a digital platform that connects private pilots and passengers for non-commercial, cost-shared flights under applicable EASA regulations. We do not operate aircraft, employ pilots, or provide transportation services. Each flight is organised and executed solely by the participating pilot and passengers.
Eligibility & accounts
By using SkyFuns you confirm that:
- You have the legal capacity to enter binding agreements.
- The information you provide to SkyFuns is accurate, legal, valid, genuine and kept up to date.
- You will use the platform in full compliance with applicable local aviation regulations and these terms of use.
Pilot responsibilities
Pilots listing seats on SkyFuns agree to:
- Hold a valid EASA license (PPL or higher) and the required medical certificate.
- Ensure that all required ratings & privileges are valid for the specific flight being conducted.
- Comply with all applicable passenger carriage requirements, including completing at least 3 take-offs and 3 landings within the 90 days preceding the flight - Refer to Part - FCL.060 / Recent experience -.
- Comply with cost-sharing rules (direct costs divided among all occupants including the pilot) - EASA AIR OPS Regulation (EU) No 965/2012.
- When operating as PIC, remain responsible for flight planning, weather briefings, aircraft documents, aircraft acceptance, airworthiness and passenger safety at all times.
- The pilot is responsible for verifying that the aircraft holds appropriate insurance coverage for private, non-commercial flights with passengers
- Ensure their aircraft meets all applicable registration and regulatory requirements set by local, national aviation authorities.
- Share accurate route details, costs, and limitations before confirming any seat.
Passenger responsibilities
Passengers agree to:
- Respect pilot decisions and limitations, safety briefings, and aviation etiquette.
- Complete payments within the time frame shown in SkyFuns.
- Passengers must not carry illegal or hazardous items. Any doubtful items must be declared to the pilot. The pilot may check baggage and deny boarding if necessary.
- Arrive at the agreed meeting point ahead of departure with necessary identification.
- Refrain from smoking as this is strictly prohibited on all flights.
- Not touch flight controls or instruments under any circumstances.
- Be silent during critical phases of flight, including radio communications, on take-off and landing or whenever instructed by the Pilot in Command.
- Not operate doors, locks, and safety mechanisms unless instructed by the pilot.
- Be fit to fly and should refrain from alcohol or any psychoactive substances before and during the flight.
- Wear the seatbelt at all times unless instructed by the pilot.
- Securely stow personal items to avoid interference with controls or safety.
Platform limitations
SkyFuns acts solely as a facilitation platform connecting private pilots and passengers.
To the extent permitted by law, SkyFuns shall not be held responsible for the execution of flights, delays, incidents, or accidents arising from the flight operation itself.
Flights are private arrangements between individuals, and the pilot remains responsible for the operation of the aircraft and compliance with applicable aviation regulations, including those under Regulation (EU) No 965/2012.
SkyFuns reserves the right to suspend or remove user accounts that violate these Terms or applicable regulations, with or without prior notice when necessary.
Updates
We may update these Terms of Service to reflect regulatory or operational changes. When updates are made we will post the revised version and update the effective date at the top of this page.
